Recognise and Repair – Online Interactive Seminar
Addressing the uniqueness of adoptive parenting
Parenting children through adoption can be exceptionally rewarding, but it is also a demanding and challenging task which requires great skill and sensitivity. This workshop is intended to provide adoptive parents with a framework to better understand the behaviour of their children so they can settle and flourish in their family.
This workshop is based on Trauma and Attachment Theory and on how the interactions in daily family life are a vehicle through which children can be moved towards security.
At the completion of the workshop course participants will have:
- An understanding of the impact of trauma and attachment disruption on children who come to them through adoption
- An understanding of the behaviour of their children and ways of managing the behaviour
- Practical strategies and tips for managing the behaviour in a way that promotes the attachment relationship.
To gain access to the recording of this seminar please contact our Intercountry Adoption Family Support Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org or via phone on 1300 543 6200.
