Program Description
Taking on the responsibility of a leadership role can be both a challenging and rewarding experience. This program assists employees, new to a supervisory position as well as those who have held such a role for some time, with practical skills on how to to bring the best out of their team and to identify the procedural responsibilities associated with a managerial role.
Topics Include:
- Supervisor roles and responsibilities
- Understanding different leadership styles
- Building, developing and leading teams
- Enhancing communication skills
- Compliance, policies and procedures, legislation (EEO, OHS, IR)
- Delivering effective performance development and management of staff
- Disciplinary action
The focus of this training program is based on the people management aspects of a supervisory role. There are a number of other aspects of a supervisory role that will not be covered within this training program such as managing finances, risk management, developing and implementing policies and procedures, information management and systems, project management, continuous improvement processes and operational management.
